Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Government Patrol Driver in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer where you'll monitor and patrol government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing exceptional customer service. This primarily driving post involves conducting routine patrols, maintaining a strong presence, and communicating clearly with the public. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, visitors, and/or the public as required.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity, potential hazards, or maintenance issues encountered during patrols.
  • Follow post orders and instructions provided by Allied Universal and site management.
  • Assist law enforcement and/or emergency personnel as directed in the event of an incident.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the location to help to deter unwanted activity.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
