Job Description: Senior Scientist I, Global Bioanalytical Quality Technical

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Scientist I to the Global Bioanalytical Quality Technical within the Process R&D, Health and Biosciences (H&B) division, based in Wilmington, Delaware. The GlobalQualityTechnical group partners with R&D, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and Global QA across the Health & Biosciences Businesses to advance and implementqualitybest practices.

The Bioanalytical Team serves as subject matter experts supporting product commercialization, manufacturing, and global registrations. The team provides analytical services, method transfer, qualification, and scientific solutions to ensure suitable, reliable, compliant, and repeatable first-pass first-quality (FPFQ). Responsibilities include generating, maintaining, and distributing enzyme standards and controls for global quantification and product release, as well as supporting the global manufacturing SQC program to ensure consistent quality practices. The team also contributes to global product stewardship through method development, knowledge sharing, and the transfer of analytical methods for the safe use and handling of enzymes. Key technical areas include enzymology, HPLC, combustion analysis (organic and protein), ELISA, gel electrophoresis, spectroscopy, physical properties, and the development and application of emerging analytical technologies.

As a Senior Scientist I, this role provides advanced technical expertise to the Global Bioanalytical Quality Technical function by applying deep knowledge in Statistical Quality Control (SQC), analytical method performance, and datadriven evaluation to strengthen global manufacturing and product quality. The position supports the development, execution, and continuous improvement of analytical methods, standards, and controls, while maintaining and evaluating enzyme standards and control programs essential for global quantification and product release. It involves performing detailed statistical and data analyses to identify trends, deviations, and improvement opportunities, as well as collaborating with R&D, QA/QC, Manufacturing, and site technical teams to troubleshoot analytical challenges and enhance process robustness. Operating at an advanced level, the Senior Scientist contributes to innovation, technology integration, customer partnership, and technical leadership by identifying highvalue opportunities, applying scientific and statistical rigor, and communicating insights that influence project direction and business outcomes.

* Ability to work onsite fulltime; this is not a remote or hybrid position.

Skill Sets

* Strong Statistical Quality Control (SQC) capability, including control charting, trend analysis, and interpretation of manufacturing and analytical variability.

* Advanced analytical expertise is a plus, including, HPLC, spectroscopy, Gel electrophoresis, combustion analysis, and other bioanalytical techniques.

* Proficiency in statistical tools and data analysis, including DOE principles, method performance evaluation, and rootcause investigation.

* Deep understanding of analytical method development, qualification, validation, and lifecycle management in support of manufacturing and product stewardship.

* Ability to interpret complex datasets, identify deviations, assess method robustness, and recommend scientifically sound corrective actions.

* Experience supporting standards and controls programs, including preparation, qualification, maintenance, and global distribution of analytical standards.

* Strong problemsolving skills, with the ability to address ambiguous or poorly defined technical challenges using scientific and statistical reasoning.

* Effective crossfunctional collaboration, working closely with R&D, QA/QC, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and site technical teams.

* Clear and influential communication skills, including the ability to present technical findings, integrate diverse inputs, and recommend solutions.

* Project leadership skills, with experience planning, executing, and coordinating projects of moderate scope without formal supervisory responsibilities.

* High proficiency with digital tools and data systems, including LIMS, SAP, SharePoint, Office 365 (Excel expertise preferred), Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Access.

* Strong organizational and planning abilities, with capacity to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

* Commitment to laboratory excellence, including safety, ethics, inclusivity, and continuous improvement of lab operations and systems.

* Ability to work fully onsite, contributing actively to laboratory workflows, team interactions, and handson analytical activities.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in bioanalytical science, biochemistry, biochemical engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field with 10+ years of relevant industry experience.

* Master's degree (M.S.) in a related scientific discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience.

* Ph.D. in a related scientific discipline with 2-3 years of relevant experience.

* Strong technical foundation in analytical methods, including enzymology, HPLC, ELISA, spectroscopy, electrophoresis, and related bioanalytical techniques.

* Demonstrated experience with Statistical Quality Control (SQC), data analysis, and the application of statistical tools to evaluate method performance and manufacturing trends.

* Proven ability to troubleshoot analytical issues, interpret complex datasets, and recommend scientifically sound solutions.

* Experience supporting or managing standards and controls programs for manufacturing or product release.

* Effective crossfunctional collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with R&D, QA/QC, Manufacturing, and site technical teams.

* Strong communication skills, including the ability to present technical findings, integrate diverse inputs, and influence project direction.

* Proficiency with digital tools and data systems such as LIMS, SAP, SharePoint, Office 365 (Excel expertise preferred), Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Access.

* Ability to work fully onsite and contribute actively to laboratory operations, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.
