Job Description




As a Security Officer - Hospital Patrol Specialist in Syracuse, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and supporting a secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors. This is a driving post, requiring you to operate a vehicle as part of your patrol duties. You will provide outstanding customer service and communication, upholding Allied Universal's values of integrity, teamwork, and innovation while putting people first.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, staff, patients, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies within the healthcare environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for healthcare settings.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain order within the location.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, unusual activities, and/or hazards, communicating with appropriate personnel as required.
  • Support emergency response activities, including assisting with evacuations and coordinating with first responders when necessary.
  • Maintain a visible Allied Universal presence to help to deter disruptive behavior and provide reassurance to those within the healthcare location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
