As a Security Officer - Warehouse Roving Patrol in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, and stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support dock and yard operations by observing access points, responding to calls for assistance, documenting security-related activity, and providing professional customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, drivers, and visitors by following post orders, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report activity through approved communication channels.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, truck yards, loading dock areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or access.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound vehicle flow at designated access points, verify appointments and/or shipping documentation as required by site procedures, and direct traffic to appropriate staging areas.
  • Perform access control for employees, contractors, and visitors, including checking identification and/or issuing visitor credentials per site policy.
  • Observe and report security-related concerns such as damaged fencing, propped doors, suspicious behavior, and/or restricted area violations, and document findings in written and/or electronic logs.
  • Assist with incident response activities such as fire alarms, medical calls, and facility emergencies, including coordinating notifications and supporting site evacuation procedures when directed.
  • Support loss prevention and cargo protection efforts by maintaining visible presence in shipping and receiving areas and reporting unusual conditions and/or potential theft indicators.
  • Operate site communication equipment and complete daily activity reports, incident reports, and pass-down logs per Allied Universal and client site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
