Overview

We are seeking a talented individual for the Associate Product Manager role which will directly support the P&L for Cotiviti's retail payment accuracy solution areas.

Reporting to the Senior Product Director, this individual will have an understanding of the Source-to-Pay ecosystem and a passion for product development. S/he will have the capability to lead within a matrixed environment - to take the "voice of the customer" and translate that into market-driven, detail-oriented requirements for engineering teams that yield best-in-class products. This role will work with the Senior Product Director to deliver innovation and revenue growth for new elements of Cotiviti's retail payment accuracy portfolio including direct ownership of one or more retail products.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a unique blend of leadership, creativity, business judgment, industry knowledge, and execution-oriented thinking in the context of solution design and delivery. The Associate Product Manager will work closely with software development teams to ensure product solutions meet market requirements.

A customer focus is required supported by executive presentation skills, emotional intelligence, financial acumen, and creativity.



Responsibilities

    Product Attributes: Develop market and business requirements for acceptance into the baseline product, as well as maintaining detailed user personas and scenarios; maintain a groomed backlog and detailed BRDs. Provide solution guidance and support for other departments including but not limited to Engineering, Operations, Technical Writing, IT/Release, Training, as well as sales support when appropriate.

  • Prioritization: Assist in driving strategic direction of products through prioritization based on sound business cases and thorough understanding of market/customer needs and direct interaction/feedback with clients.

  • Voice of Customer: Attend all required meetings with engineering teams (e.g., sprint planning, grooming, sprint review, etc.) to ensure that market and customer needs are fully understood by all product development stakeholders and final user story outputs meet customer requirements.

  • Quality: Evaluate software and services relative to market requirements, user stories, and end-customer needs to ensure high quality, effective software and solutions. Prove training and mentoring to the QA organization on process, methodologies, and planning as needed.
  • Research: Conduct product research with both current clients and competitors to further understand the solution profile and market requirements.
  • Communications: Provide product input to internal and external communications, release notes, documentation, training, and implementation collateral.

  • Collaboration: Promote a professional model that encourages collaboration across many teams (engineering, client management, operations, marketing, etc.) in the development and alignment of the product and its future direction.

  • Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal setting.

  • Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • 3-5 years' experience in Source-To-Pay or payment accuracy solutions in the retail industry or equivalent industry.
  • 1-3 years product management experience - conceiving, socializing, creating, and delivering products or solutions. Equivalent experience with software and product development lifecycles will be considered.
  • Strong ability to provide and coordinate subject matter expertise to establish product direction and Roadmaps, both internally and externally with clients.
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization to set and drive a strategic vision.
  • Ability to influence other departments to ensure deliverables are accomplished
  • Must be self-motivated and passionate about creating application and workflow solutions for diverse and challenging problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience communicating with individuals of all backgrounds and areas of expertise.
  • Experience managing projects with an eye towards budget and timeline constraints, with results orientation
  • Team-player, with strong communication, motivational, and mentoring skills.

Mental Requirements:

  • Strong presentation and customer (internal/external) engagement skills.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to identify novel product opportunities and problem-solving and implementation skills to operationalize them.
  • Strong project management, interpersonal, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Must be able to provide high-speed internet access / connectivity and office setup and maintenance.
  • Must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area.
  • Travel - at least 10% of the time

Base compensation ranges from $90,000 to $110,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs. This role is eligible for discretionary bonus consideration.
