Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Inmate Transport in Land O Lakes, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine mobile patrols, stay highly visible, and respond to incidents while delivering strong customer service and clear communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license, and you will support security-related operations with professionalism and sound judgment. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate emergency services and/or site representatives as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Control access points by verifying identification and/or authorization for entry, issuing visitor credentials as directed, and directing foot and vehicle traffic according to site procedures.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras, intrusion and fire panels, and other site systems when assigned, and report irregular conditions per post orders.
  • Document incidents, observations, patrol activity, and interactions in written reports and/or electronic logs, and submit required documentation to Allied Universal supervision.
  • Perform routine inspections for unsecured doors, damaged property, suspicious items, and other irregularities, and notify site contacts and/or Allied Universal management per protocol.
  • Maintain readiness of assigned post equipment and required issued gear, and follow all site rules regarding storage, handling, and reporting of equipment status.
  • Assist with crowd management and order maintenance during public-facing activities and/or meetings as directed by site procedures and Allied Universal supervision.
  • Coordinate with site personnel and local law enforcement as needed, providing clear information and preserving incident details for follow-up.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A minimum of 2 years of law enforcement, military, and/or corrections experience is required.
  • An Armed Guard Card and/or License is preferred.
  • A Guard Card and/or License is preferred.
  • Pepper Spray Certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
