Job Description




As a Security Officer - Flex Hospital Rounds in Hixson, TN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Allied Universal Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that can help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for assistance, support staff, patients, and visitors with clear communication and customer service, and document observations and incidents. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disruptive behavior, suspicious activity, and medical facility code calls as directed by site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by assigned post and shift.
  • Monitor access points and help manage visitor flow by observing entries and exits, directing individuals to appropriate check-in areas, and reporting unauthorized access concerns.
  • Observe and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns discovered during rounds, and communicate findings to site contacts for follow-up.
  • Perform security-related incident documentation, including written reports and activity logs, with accurate details and timely submission per post orders.
  • Support staff with de-escalation by maintaining a professional presence, using verbal conflict resolution techniques, and requesting additional assistance when needed.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and/or other security-related systems as assigned, and report system alerts and abnormal conditions according to site procedures.
  • Provide directions and assistance with wayfinding, patient transport routes, and visitor questions while maintaining professional boundaries and site policy compliance.
  • Coordinate with Allied Universal supervisors and site leadership during emergencies, evacuations, severe weather, and/or other urgent events, following established response protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Meet hospital vaccine requirements.
  • Be able to work in a hospital morgue.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be able to restrain individuals.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
