Job Description




As a Security Officer - Civic Rounds Patrol in Yonkers, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government transit location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly with staff and visitors, document observations, and respond professionally to issues as they arise. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical situations, disorderly conduct, suspicious activity, and/or property damage.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, platforms, lots, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards and/or maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor access points and public areas, directing traffic flow as needed and helping to maintain orderly movement through high-traffic transit areas.
  • Observe and report unusual conditions, loitering, and/or suspicious behavior, promptly notifying site leadership and/or public agency personnel when needed.
  • Complete detailed written reports of daily activities, incidents, and/or significant observations, including accurate times, locations, and actions taken.
  • Assist with crowd management during peak hours, service disruptions, special events, and/or emergency conditions, following site procedures and direction from supervisors.
  • Communicate clearly via radio, phone, and/or in person with site representatives, coworkers, and/or local responders to coordinate incident response and routine operations.
  • Support property protection efforts by checking doors, gates, lighting, and/or restricted areas and reporting unsecured conditions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with post orders and site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • - Have 6+ months of security-related experience.
  • - A guard card/license is preferred.
  • - Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • - Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • - Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • - A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
