JOB SUMMARY

The Director, Marketing, CGT is a strategic enterprise marketing leader responsible for driving global growth, market presence, and commercial execution for the Cell & Gene Therapy business within the Global Therapy Innovations (GTI) Business Area.

This role leads global and regional marketing strategy and execution across the CGT care continuum - from cell collection through cell therapy manufacturing and delivery - translating market insights into differentiated go-to-market strategies, demand generation, and revenue impact. The position serves as a key member of the CGT leadership team, operating with a player-coach mindset and leading a high-performing marketing organization of regional and global marketers.

The role partners closely with GTI cross-functional leaders to ensure strong alignment between portfolio direction and market execution. The position reports to the General Manager, Cell & Gene Therapy. Position is based in North America (Lakewood, CO preferred, however qualified candidates from out of state will be considered, hybrid with periodic onsite presence)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership & Global Marketing Strategy



  • Set the vision and provide leadership for global and regional CGT marketing teams, fostering engagement, accountability, and execution excellence.
  • Own and drive the global marketing strategy, including market insights, segmentation, positioning, messaging, and the marketing mix across the CGT portfolio.
  • Collaborate with Platform Technology and regional Commercial leaders on global and regional go-to-market strategy to accelerate pipeline velocity and revenue growth.
  • Translate market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive intelligence into actionable marketing strategies across developed and emerging markets.
  • Identify whitespace opportunities, adjacencies, and partnership opportunities to inform growth strategies and commercial prioritization.



Commercial Execution & Growth Enablement



  • Drive demand generation, sales enablement, and funnel acceleration through customer segmentation, value propositions, channel strategy, and commercial tools.
  • Lead brand growth through integrated digital engagement, omnichannel campaigns, customer programs, and global congress presence.
  • Own KOL engagement strategy across scientific, clinical, and commercial ecosystems in collaboration with Scientific Affairs and regional teams.
  • Integrate data, analytics, and digital solutions into marketing programs to support scalable growth and new business models.
  • Track performance through KPIs, analytics, and ROI-based optimization of global and regional marketing initiatives in partnership with Marketing Communications and Commercial Operations leads.


Influence, Collaboration & Communication



  • Serve as the global narrative leader for CGT, clearly articulating strategy and value to internal stakeholders and external audiences.
  • Drive enterprise alignment by shaping understanding of customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape across regions and functions.
  • Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives that materially impact adoption, market share, and profitable growth.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with customers, partners, industry associations, and other external stakeholders.
  • Effectively influence and collaborate at all organizational levels across geographies and functions.



Operational & Financial Leadership



  • Lead and develop cross-functional and matrixed teams aligned to CGT business priorities.
  • Own global marketing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking.
  • Operate with the highest standards of integrity, compliance, and alignment to Terumo core values.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education



  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field required
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred



Experience



  • Minimum 12 years of progressive global marketing leadership experience in medical device, biotech, or pharmaceutical industries. People management experience is required.
  • Demonstrated success driving global marketing strategies, launching new programs, and leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience in the cell and gene therapy market strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to influence executive leadership and unify sales and marketing teams around a shared vision.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Approximately up to 30% travel to both domestic and international locations with extended work hours.

Target Pay Range:$199,100.00to$248,800.00 -Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:30.0%
