Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced technical data management support to BUs and Drilling, Completions, and Well Servicing/Production Functions, independently handling complex datasets and workflows while escalating only highly complex challenges.
- Collaborate with Corporate Data Management in the development, implementation, and support of best practices for technical data management (Subsurface, Operations, and Master Data).
- Contribute to the implementation of Corporate Data Management guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards globally and help ensure continuity and alignment of data across all Business Units.
- Communicate Corporate Data Management vision and strategy to Business Unit technical teams and leadership and serve as a key conduit for connecting strategy to execution.
- Monitor EDM and other data sources for acceptable levels of completeness, validity, and accuracy of technical data, and actively implement remediation processes for erroneous or inconsistent datasets.
- Assess the EDM governance model, identifying systemic issues and recommending targeted improvements to drive longterm sustainment of data quality and integrity.
- Ensure well servicing, drilling, and completions data is correctly integrated with other company systems by identifying integration gaps, recommending enhancements, and validating endtoend data flows.
- Liaise with IT to assess and test new drilling, completions, and well servicing data management technologies. Provide realistic, technically grounded recommendations for adoption or improvement.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends, evolving applications, and emerging technologies within drilling, completions, and well servicing data management, and share insights with peers and management.
- Contribute to the definition and enhancement of governance models that support longterm sustainability of data quality, influencing decisions through subjectmatter expertise.
- Lead significant workstreams and support Corporate Data Management projects to ensure completion on time and within scope, collaborating closely with project managers and domain experts.
- Identify, acquire, and migrate highvalue drilling, completions, and well servicing data to the system of record, ensuring consistency, lineage, and traceability.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain data validations to ensure data is trusted, high quality, and actionable by downstream consumers.
- Monitor the data management service portal, correcting incidents and completing tasks assigned to the Data Management Team with a high level of independence and accountability.
- Engage crossfunctional teams-including geoscientists, engineers, and operations personnel-to understand business needs, data usage patterns, and pain points, proactively delivering solutions.
- Assess data management processes, tools, and technologies and recommend improvements that increase data quality, efficiency, reliability, and overall effectiveness across the organization.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geoscience, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience in drilling, completions, or well servicing data management.
- Proficient in managing, loading, and validating drilling, completions, and well servicing data.
- Experience with D&C reporting applications such as Landmark EDM, Weatherford WSM, and associated tools.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver technical data management workstreams or subprojects.
- Strong skills querying and analyzing data in Oracle and SQL Server databases using SQL.
- Strong proficiency with Python for data engineering tasks.
- Strong knowledge of Office 365, including Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Experience developing dashboards in Power BI or Spotfire.
- Working understanding of developing and supporting Operational Data Stores and/or Data Lakes.
- Strong problem-solving and criticalthinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver technical presentations.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively across teams.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of technical data generated during drilling, completions, and well servicing operations, and standard industry methodologies, tools, and processes used to receive, validate, and manage these data types.
- Working knowledge of operational reporting applications, subsurface and operational data types, and underlying databases.
- Strong understanding of SQL and hierarchical databases (Oracle and SQL Server).
- Working knowledge of wellbore schematics and industry concepts such as tubulars, packers, plugs, and perforations.
- Familiarity with artificial lift types (ESP, Rod Lift, PCP, Gas Lift).
- Experience defining technical data standards, naming conventions, workflows, and procedures.
- Experience supporting OSDU initiatives, data governance efforts, and enterprise data quality programs.
- Strong working knowledge of the MS Office365 application suite.
