| Brief Summary of Work for this Position |
The role of the
IFP Student Support Specialist is to provide a range of indirect and direct services to
IFP students.
IFP Student Support Specialist will directly report to the Program Director but work with all staff members (i.e., Educational Coach, Career Coordinator, and Academic Coordinator). Student Support Specialist will regularly plan
IFP student activities (i.e., athletic events, plays, performances, campus fair/festival, rec center activities) throughout the semester. Finally, Student Support Personnel may work one-on-one with
IFP students or work in the program office on various office tasks.
Specific tasks are listed below:
- Meet all program requirements (e.g., learning contract, evaluations, hour logs, etc.).
- Assist with posting and maintaining IFP social media accounts throughout the semester.
- Attend weekly intern/Peer Mentor meetings/trainings.
- Meet with Program Director/Assistant Director bi-weekly throughout the semester.
- Complete IFP weekly hour log spreadsheet and update hours in Employee Essential account.
- Complete self-evaluated Midterm Evaluation and meet with Program Director for formal evaluation.
- Complete self-evaluated Final Evaluation and meet with Program Director for formal evaluation.
- Attend class with student(s).
- Work on individual student goal(s) (e.g., time management, campus navigation, budgeting, etc.).
- Provide academic tutoring to students.
- Provide job coaching to students.
- Creation of student goal(s) with assistance from program staff.
- Plan inclusive events/activities (work with Career Coordinator, Academic Coordinator, or Director on development and execution of event/activity).

| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. |

- Strong administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and university financial/information systems (Banner, uShop, Chrome River, AIM, Maxient) and/or other university purchasing/information systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality.
