As the Director of Forecasting, you will lead the development, validation, and communication of forecasts that shape the direction of our diverse Commercial portfolio-including Testing Services, Transplant Pharmacy, Digital Solutions, Lab Products, and Lifecycle Planning. Your insights will directly influence commercial strategy by delivering clear, datadriven perspectives on market trends, product performance, customer behavior, and competitive dynamics.

In this role, you will synthesize market research and competitive intelligence to produce objective forecasts that guide planning and decisionmaking across the organization. You will identify key business opportunities, highlight emerging risks, and collaborate closely with crossfunctional partners to embed an external market viewpoint into strategic initiatives.

Your work will support product development, launches, and lifecycle management, ensuring the organization is equipped with the foresight needed to drive growth and make confident, informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Forecasting Leadership:



  • Supporting leadership by providing actionable intelligence on market trends, customer insights and competitive positioning
  • Collaborate with broader Commercial team to clearly understand key business questions and ensure the incorporation of these in planning activities and forecasts
  • Collaborate with Commercial leadership and cross functional partners on the design and maintenance of a robust forecast model for in-line products
  • Develop scenario analyses to evaluate market dynamics, competitive landscape, and product uptake.


Strategic Planning & Collaboration:



  • Partner with Commercial Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Market Access teams to align forecasts with business objectives.
  • Provide insights to senior leadership for portfolio prioritization and long-range planning.


Data Analytics & Modeling:



  • Focus on forecasting techniques including, but not limited to, patient-based forecasting, trend modeling and event driven models.
  • Utilize epidemiological data, claims analysis, and patient journey insights to inform forecast assumptions.
  • Implement advanced statistical techniques and forecasting tools to improve accuracy and adaptability.
  • Proficiency in managing and evolving forecasts as they progress through different stages of development


Governance & Reporting:



  • Establish forecasting standards and governance processes to ensure consistency.
  • Deliver clear, actionable reports and presentations to executive stakeholders.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MEd, or life sciences) preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in life science industry (pharmaceutical, biotech, med device or diagnostics).
  • 4+ years of experience in forecasting or portfolio analytics.
  • Strong understanding of transplant medicine, diagnostic workflows, and healthcare provider dynamics.
  • Excellent quantitative background that supports the analysis of data to better understand market dynamics and provide insights into product performance and marketing strategy
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable commercial strategy and tactics.
  • Ability to self-direct projects and work with little supervision


Preferred Attributes:



  • Experience in post-transplant diagnostics or related therapeutic areas (e.g., nephrology, rare disease, immunology, cardiology, pulmonology, hematology).
  • Collaborative, proactive, and passionate about improving patient care through education.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit; comfortable with rapid change, resource constraints, and the need to be flexible about roles

This is the anticipated base salary range for candidates who will work in Brisbane, California. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include, but are not limited to, the type and length of experience within the job, the type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units. CareDx is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
