What this job involves:

Drive strategic space optimization as an Associate Occupancy Planner with JLL, where you'll be responsible for tracking, analyzing, and updating space data while leveraging your expertise in creating comprehensive occupancy planning scenarios to deliver innovative solutions for client portfolios in a designated region. You'll serve as a subject matter expert managing client needs from capacity, demand, and supply perspectives while driving efficiency through all occupancy planning products and resolving multifaceted issues across diverse workplace environments. This role positions you at the center of space portfolio management, where your expertise in data analysis, stakeholder relationship management, and tactical occupancy planning will directly impact client satisfaction and operational efficiency. Your contributions will support JLL's occupancy planning excellence while you foster critical relationships with clients and stakeholders, prepare accurate project status reports, and contribute to business development growth for an industry-leading real estate services firm.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Manage client needs from capacity, demand, and supply perspectives while driving efficiency through occupancy planning products and resolving multifaceted issues across workplace portfolios as subject matter expert
  • Track, analyze, and update space data creating occupancy planning scenarios, prepare and update accurate project status reports, and perform reporting on people and space data plus occupancy metrics
  • Foster critical relationships with clients and stakeholders establishing crisp communication channels, manage varying projects while ensuring robust relationships, and effectively communicate project objectives
  • Perform workplace programming and requirements gathering including adjacency requirements, execute tactical occupancy planning duties including space planning and block and stack plans, and utilize AutoCAD for test-fits
  • Utilize CAFM systems to inform occupancy planning and benchmarking, manage occupancy data sets within relevant technologies like FMS SPACE CAFM system, and manage updates to space layouts and drawing management
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Strategy, Transactions, Project & Move Management, and Facility Management teams plus CAD-SDM teams ensuring accuracy of planning database information Manage periodic data audits, accuracy validation, and coordinate reconciliation according to Service Level Agreements while ensuring space planning aligns with corporate guidelines and business requirements
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field such as architecture or interior design with 3-5 years of experience in corporate real estate environment and previous space/occupancy planning experience at tactical level
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite with proficiency in AutoCAD, ability to consolidate data and floor plans into PowerPoint presentations, and CAFM/IWMS system experience
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills (preferably English) with strong interpersonal abilities and capability to inspire others while managing multiple projects effectively Advanced Excel skills for data analysis with ability to track and manage space and occupancy data sets while performing reporting and deliverables for comprehensive metrics
  • Self-motivated with capability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, drive results, manage time effectively, and multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
  • Intellectual curiosity with appetite for challenges and passion for winning, ability to ask right questions and think strategically plus tactically making appropriate decisions
  • Working knowledge of occupancy utilization, office design principles, and workplace trends such as mobile or collaborative workplace environments with spatial creativity skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with interior office renovations, architectural design familiarity with basic code elements, and furniture planning/management in corporate real estate settings
  • Advanced experience with FMS SPACE CAFM system, Manhattan, Tririga, or similar platforms with understanding of complex occupancy planning technologies and benchmarking tools
  • Background managing large-scale corporate client portfolios, supporting strategic space optimization initiatives, or leading cross-functional occupancy planning projects
  • Experience implementing operational improvements, developing standard operating procedures, or enhancing occupancy planning processes that increase efficiency and client satisfaction Understanding of real estate economics, space cost optimization, or budget management related to occupancy planning and portfolio strategy development
  • Professional certifications in space planning, facility management, or architectural fields with active participation in industry organizations (IFMA, CoreNet Global) demonstrating commitment to continuous learning
Location:

New York City, NY (Hybrid - 3-4 days in office per week)

Estimated compensation for this position:

78,000.00 - 86,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
