Job Title: Compliance Engineer

Location: Keosauqua, IA

What we're looking for:

We are looking for a Compliance Engineer for the Hillphoenix Specialty division who will be responsible for ensuring that current and future products align with relevant regulatory requirements for both Iowa facilities in Keosauqua and Centerville. Experience and knowledge in commercial or industrial refrigeration engineering is ideal for this role.

What you'll be responsible for in this role:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable design, performance, test, safety, environmental, and energy standards (e.g. UL 471, UL 60335-2-89, NSF 7, NSF4, EPA refrigerant regulations, etc.)
  • Work directly with regulatory agencies to maintain existing regulatory files and create/update regulatory files impacted by engineering projects
  • Maintain and communicate regulatory roadmaps to various stakeholders
  • Actively participate in relevant industry regulatory activity
  • Support information requests from regulatory agencies (UL, EPA, NSF, ETL etc.)
  • Support agency inspections of production facilities
  • Provide guidance and drive resolution for compliance-related field issues

What are the basic qualifications for this role?

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience interpreting and applying regulatory standards to engineering designs in a manufacturing organization

To be a great fit for the role:

  • Experience interfacing directly with regulatory agencies
  • Commercial or industrial refrigeration engineering experience
  • Electrical control panel experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to multi-task balancing multiple competing priorities and projects at the same time
  • Detail oriented, with ability to review and analyze test reports for data integrity
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
