Job Summary:

The Scientist of Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) supports Supernus' drug discovery and preclinical development efforts in the department of Preclinical DMPK and Pharmacology. The Scientist will provide scientific and hands-on implementation of discovery compound screening assays and translational studies for small molecule drug discovery and development with a focus on CNS disorders.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Serves as a study monitor for preclinical DMPK related studies.
  • Collaborates with Contract Research Organizations to develop study protocols, oversee study execution, review data, and finalize reports.
  • Communicates and provides regular progress updates.
  • Supports other DMPK activities including budget planning, test article shipment, and negotiation of study quotes.
  • Supports the preparation of regulatory documentation (e.g. IB, IND, NDA, etc.) and outside reports as appropriate.
  • Other responsibilities and projects assigned.


Supervisory Responsibilities:



  • N/A.


Knowledge & Other Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in sciences with six years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or;
  • Master's degree in sciences with four years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or;
  • Ph.D. with no experience.
  • At least three years of experience working in drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in CNS drug discovery and development programs is a plus.
  • Extensive experience working with Contract Research Organizations include budget planning and management, contract negotiation and execution, test article management, protocol review and approval, data review, report review and finalization.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and collaborating with CROs to conduct DMPK related studies.
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • Strength in delivering results on agreed timeline.
  • Strong motivation and independence to work in a dynamic and high-achieving environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment/Travel Requirements:



  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or carrying objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer screen, iPad, or other electronic device; and extensive reading.
  • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.


Compensation:

At Supernus, we offer a competitive compensation package that reflects your experiences and contributions. The expected salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this role is $90,000 to $120,000. This range is what the Company reasonably expects to offer for the position and is not reflective of the full compensation scale of the role. This range may be modified in the future. An individual's salary within the range is based on multiple factors, which may include and are not limited to education, relevant experience, knowledge, length of industry experience and organizational needs.

You also will be able to participate in a competitive benefits package, including but not limited to: health, dental, vision, paid time off, 401k company match, company paid life insurance and health and wellness benefits. The total compensation package for this position also includes other compensation elements such as stock equity awards, employee stock purchase programs and participation in our Company's discretionary annual bonus program.
