Job Title: Housekeeping and/or Apparel Worker I
Location: Warrenton, VA
Pay Rate: $17.00/hr. without benefits
Duration: 6+ months
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM
Hours per week: Approximately 32 hours per week
Job Description:
- The department is seeking two reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeping Workers to support cleanliness and sanitation across the district facilities. Each worker will be primarily assigned to one location, with occasional travel to other sites as needed. The ideal candidates will maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for staff, visitors, and patients/clients.
Required Qualifications:
- Previous housekeeping or custodial experience preferred
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and disinfectant use
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25-40 pounds.
- Comfortable using cleaning equipment and chemicals.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between locations.
- Ability to work the assigned schedule and occasional alternate locations.
- Compliance with safety, infection control, and facility policies.
Work Environment:
- Clinical and office settings.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and bodily fluids.
- Moderate physical activity .
Role and Responsibilities:
- Floors, Carpets & Rugs.
- Vacuum carpets, rugs, and mats daily.
- Spot clean and treat stains as needed.
- Shampoo carpets and upholstery semiannually or as required.
- Sweep tile floors daily.
- Wet mop clinic, restroom, and common-area floors using approved disinfectants daily.
- Strip, rinse, seal, and refinish floors semiannually.
Walls, Doors & Windows:
- Spot clean walls and interior doors weekly.
- Clean entrance and exit door glass (interior and exterior) daily.
- Wash windows (interior and exterior) semiannually.
Worksurfaces & Horizontal Areas:
- Dust and clean desks, tables, cabinets, counters, and similar surfaces daily.
- Clean and disinfect worksurfaces weekly.
- Dust and clean picture frames, ledges, window sills, open shelves, and partition tops weekly to monthly.
Trash & Waste Management:
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners (interior and exterior) daily
- Wash and disinfect trash receptacles weekly
Restroom Cleaning & Sanitation:
- Clean and disinfect toilets, sinks, and urinals using germicidal solutions daily.
- Clean restroom fixtures, dispensers, panels, and piping weekly.
- Clean mirrors daily.
- Refill soap, paper towel, and toilet tissue dispensers daily.
- Spot clean and disinfect ceramic tile surfaces weekly.
Fixtures, Furniture & Equipment:
- Clean and disinfect metal fixtures, door plates, and touchpoints daily.
- Clean and disinfect water fountains daily.
- Clean wooden, vinyl, and metal chairs monthly.
- Vacuum fabric chairs; spot clean or shampoo as needed.
- Clean heating and cooling vents monthly.
- Clean and disinfect clinic area sinks daily.
- Polish fixtures and surfaces as required.
- Refill dispensers throughout facility daily.
