Position Summary SUMMARY OF POSITION: Responsible for ensuring all supplies are stocked for operators and product is delivered to the necessary areas within the plant. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Properly trained in the use of forklifts and other Powered Industrial Trucks as required. 2. Verify forklift meets safety specifications by completing inspection card at beginning of each shift. 3. Deliver materials as needed to ensure production runs smoothly. 4. Ensure all waste is properly weighed and documented. 5. Prepare and complete necessary paperwork. DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/ NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures in a manner that eliminates risk to health and the environment. Notify leadership of unsafe conditions or practices unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to leadership immediately. 2. Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner. 3. Maintain production schedules. 4. Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S. 5. Other duties may be assigned later. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/ SCOPE: * Report directly to Value Stream Team Leader * Work closely with Maintenance to resolve issues with the equipment
Physical Conditions:
WORKING CONDITIONS: 1. Required PPE: 1.1. Safety glasses 1.2. ANSI Z41 Safety Shoes 2. Sitting and driving are required for extended periods of time. Climbing and grasping are done on a frequent basis. Carrying, stooping, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling are performed on an occasional basis. 3. Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions. 4. Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime. The employee may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
