Senior Shipping Associate

ACARA Solutions and our client in Scottsdale, AZ have a contract to hire position available

• As a Senior Shipping Associate, you'll perform a combination of manual and clerical shipping duties such as determining the proper carrier and route and preparing paperwork for shipments.
• Your clear communication skills will enable you to process outgoing shipments effectively, follow shipping practices and procedures, and route, track, and process shipments using the computer system.
• Processes outgoing shipments.
• Packages products for shipment by determining proper packaging and cushioning.
• Performs a combination of manual and clerical shipping duties such as determining proper carrier and routing and preparing paperwork for shipments.
• Uses a computer system for routing, tracking, and processing shipments.
• Follows shipping practices and procedures, and transportation routing, schedules, and requirements.
• Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications.
• Reports materials shipped and bills of lading; posts weight and shipping charges, and routes merchandise to destinations.
• Communicates clearly with coworkers, planners, material managers, and internal customers.
• Helps set and work toward team goals.
• Coordinates and prioritizes individual daily activities.
• Supports continuous improvement activities.
• Actively participates in meetings.
• May handle and process classified material.

• High School Diploma or GED with 2 years of experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping activities/processes, including classified materials.

• Certification in the assigned area.
• Ability to support continuous improvement activities.
• Outstanding communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Ability to coordinate the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production, and engineering.
• General knowledge of shipping activities/processes.
• Substantial acquaintance with an understanding of general aspects of the shipping process, with a broad knowledge of the detailed aspects of the job.
• Detailed and focused.
• General computer skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals within own department.
• Ability to obtain or provide information or data requiring some explanation or interpretation.
• Ability to work in a team environment to ensure all objectives are met for the work group.
• General supervision and instructions given for routine work, and detailed instructions given for new activities or special assignments.
