Security Officer - Overnight Tech Campus Patrol

As a Security Officer - Overnight Tech Campus Patrol in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a leading tech, media, and telecom location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps reduce security-related issues. You will engage with employees and visitors through strong customer service and clear communication, while supporting a team that is agile, reliable, and innovative, backed by a caring culture that puts people first and acts with integrity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to site employees, contractors, and/or visitors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a tech-focused location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to appropriate internal contacts and/or public emergency services as directed by post orders.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of offices, labs, parking areas, loading areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
• Monitor access points and security-related systems such as badge access activity, visitor logs, and/or cameras as assigned, and report unusual activity according to site procedures.
• Complete detailed shift reports, incident documentation, and patrol logs, and communicate relevant security-related information during post handoff.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Having a Guard Card and/or license is preferred.
• CPR and/or First Aid is preferred and may be completed post hire.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
