This role is in person at the Andrew Johnson Tower (Nashville, TN) with flexibility to work from home as business need permits.

Job Overview:

The Human Resources Manager works as a liaison between the State Special Schools and the TN Department of Education to ensure efficient and proactive human resources functions. Provide support and guidance to school administrators and staff regarding human resources issues, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and compliance with relevant policies and laws. Collaborate with leadership to identify staffing needs and implement effective solutions that support the educational mission of the State Special Schools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that school, TDOE and DOHR policies related to HR practices are consistently followed and that all human resources practices align with established standards and departmental expectations.
  • Collaborate with each State Special School to develop and execute a comprehensive recruitment plan. This process involves working closely with school leadership to assess staffing needs and ensure that each school is equipped with the necessary tools and strategies to attract, select, and onboard qualified personnel. By fostering open communication and providing tailored support, the HR Manager helps each school implement recruitment practices that align with organizational goals and promote the overall success of the educational mission.
  • Provide targeted training and constructive feedback to the human resources teams at each State Special School. This ensures that all HR-related transactions are executed with a high degree of accuracy. Through regular coaching and support, the HR Manager promotes efficient and consistent human resources operations across the schools. Additionally, the HR Manager communicates updates or changes to HR processes, offering clear explanations to facilitate understanding and ensure alignment with established procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and experience equivalent to four years of increasingly responsible full-time professional human resources or related work.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a LEA or school district. Applicants may be required to possess a valid drivers license.
