As a Security Officer - Unarmed Foot Patrol in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. You will complete routine rounds, stay visible to help deter incidents, assist guests with directions and questions, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within an educational campus and museum environment.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications and assisting with scene control until appropriate parties arrive.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, galleries, classrooms, offices, storage areas, and perimeter grounds to help to deter unauthorized access, vandalism, and/or other policy violations.
• Monitor access points and interior spaces, verify credentials when required, and assist with visitor flow and directions during classes, special events, and/or public programs.
• Complete detailed reports and logs, document unusual activity and/or maintenance concerns, and communicate updates to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Applicants must provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
• Applicants must be 21+ years of age.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
