POSITION SUMMARY:

The Certified Peer Support Supervisor will use their lived experience with substance use and or mental health disorders and recovery to support, mentor and advocate for patients navigating care for substance use disorders. Manage certified peer support workers, cover shifts as needed, administrative duties such as collecting data, completing reports and other responsibilities as assigned. Peer support specialist will also work in connecting patients to community-based programs to improve their recovery and/or harm reduction, health and general well-being through education and provision of resources through explanation of programs, coordination of care and services. Screens patients as related to substance use disorder/history of overdose and link patients to community resources that will assist with those needs. Works collaboratively and effectively within an interdisciplinary team within the community. Establishes positive and supportive relationships with participants and provides feedback to other members of the team. Builds and maintains positive working relationships with clients, providers and clinical staff. Works to reduce cultural and socio-economic barriers between clients and institutions. Available to work flexible schedule, ability to drive and meet MVH MVR driving requirements.


Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
High School Degree/GED Required and 3-5 years of work experience preferred. Must have a current valid driver's license and Certified Peer Support Worker Certificate.

Skills:

Supervisory skills/knowledge, Maintain timely and accurate documentation, Ability to demonstrate Service Excellence, Ability to remain professional in emergency situations.
