About the Role

We're looking for a friendly, motivated, work-study student to help in our preschool classrooms! You'll work with a Lead Teacher to support children ages 2-5 with daily routines, activities, and learning. A big part of this role is reading, storytelling, and helping with language and literacy activities. You'll also get to create short, fun lessons and help children explore books, words, and conversation.

What You'll Do

  • Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities and routines
  • Help kids during reading, storytelling, songs, and language games
  • Plan and lead short, simple lessons focused on early literacy and language skills
  • Talk with kids to help grow their vocabulary and understanding
  • Support transitions, playtime, and meals while keeping kids safe
  • Encourage positive interactions and help children follow classroom rules

What You'll Need

  • Must be a work-study eligible student
  • Interest in working with young children and learning about early childhood education
  • Enjoy reading, stories, and helping kids explore language
  • Good communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team
  • All required clearances(Child Abuse Clearance, Criminal Background Check, FBI Fingerprint)
  • Mandated Reporter training(we'll help you get this if needed)
  • Physical exam with TB test
  • Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification(or willingness to get it before starting)

Other Info

  • You'll be active in the classroom-bending, sitting on the floor, helping with activities
  • This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in early childhood education

Pay/Hours

$10-$12 an hour depending on skill level and prior work experience
