What You Will Do

Trimble is seeking a motivated and curious intern looking to pursue a career path of Business Analyst and Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with the Business Systems and technical teams to understand, document, and improve business system processes, with a focus on customer-facing systems. Key responsibilities include streamlining support procedures, validating and documenting processes, researching and documenting business rules and logic, providing technical support to reduce resolution times, and creating detailed, centralized user documentation. The position requires strong organizational skills, exceptional communication, attention to detail in documentation, and a curious approach to researching technical systems to drive process and performance improvements and simplify existing processes for scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Analysis:

    • Collaboration: Working closely with stakeholders to understand and document their needs and expectations for the business.

    • Process Analysis: Examine existing business processes and procedures to identify areas for cleanup and validation, and help organize documentation to expedite the handling of technical support.

    • Technical Analysis: Create comprehensive documentation of technical systems, including a research component on the underlying technology and their business rules and logic that drives core functionality.

    • Gap Analysis: Identifying and analyzing the differences between the current state and the desired future state and developing a plan to bridge those gaps.

    • Facilitation: Leading meetings to gather input from subject matter experts and technical members to understand how systems work.

    • Solution Assessment and Validation: Ensuring documentation and processes yield time savings and efficiencies through thorough evaluation.

  • Project Management:

  • Project Planning and Execution: Manage the project from initiation to completion, ensuring the defined scope of work and deliverables are achieved according to established milestones.

  • Team Leadership and Collaboration: Promote effective teamwork and clear communication between business systems and technical teams to foster collaboration during research.

  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain open communication with stakeholders and management providing regular updates on project status and managing expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with business and technical teams.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, leveraging technical knowledge to identify process gaps and clearly define solutions.

  • Can effectively interpret technical documentation and language and translate it into clear, business-friendly language that is easily understood by stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with documentation tools, such as Confluence, or the aptitude and willingness to learn.

  • A collaborative spirit ready to work independently or as part of a high-performing team.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a dynamic environment.

Bonus Skills/Experience:

  • Proven experience in documenting processes and procedures.

  • Experience with tools such as Miro, Jira, and Salesforce.

  • Solid grasp of integrated systems workflows, especially within a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) context.

Compensation: Trimble provides the following compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that it in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. This compensation range is based on a full time schedule. Trimble reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law.
