The Facility Senior Supervisor provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the maintenance and reliability of our New Berlin facility, encompassing both the distribution center and office space. This role is pivotal in ensuring a safe, efficient, and compliant environment. You will lead a dedicated maintenance team, driving proactive maintenance strategies, and ensuring efficient performance of all building systems and equipment. Additionally, you will champion Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) initiatives, encouraging a culture of safety and adherence to all OSHA regulations. You will also have the opportunity to lead facility-related projects across the nVent Electrical Connections segment.
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the long-term reliability, availability, and safety of all facility assets, directly supporting distribution center optimization and operational excellence.
- Direct and complete comprehensive preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all distribution center equipment, including forklifts, order pickers, conveyor systems, and other critical machinery.
- Oversee the safety and security of the building, including access control, CCTV, and alarm systems.
- Drive continuous improvement through reliability programs, optimizing maintenance schedules, ensuring adequate spare parts inventory, and improving technician capabilities.
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting, modification, and repair of complex machinery and equipment, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Mentor and train maintenance technicians in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair techniques.
- Demonstrate the ability to access and interpret PLC data for effective diagnostics and maintenance.
- Serve as a key liaison, communicating with team leads, supervisors, and external vendors regarding technical support and project updates.
- Own and optimize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for efficient work order management and asset tracking.
- Coordinate the maintenance and repair of interior and exterior building systems, including HVAC, lighting, alarm systems, and restroom facilities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all facility service providers, ensuring service quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead the facility's EH&S program, including the Safety Committee, ensuring compliance with all OSHA regulations and encouraging a safe work environment.
- Participate in and lead facility-related projects, supporting the strategic growth and development of the nVent Electrical Connections segment.
YOU HAVE:
- Supervisory or managerial experience in a maintenance or facilities environment preferred.
- 5+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of making effective decisions.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in CMMS and other computer applications.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and meet critical deadlines.
- Self-motivated and safety-conscious, with the ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Certified forklift operator experience.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Proficient in EH&S regulations and standard processes.
