Overview

The Clinical / Field Coordinator is a part-time (average 10 - 15 hours per week during academic semester), position is responsible for the coordination, oversight, and evaluation of all clinical and field education components of the EMS programs. Position focuses on clinical and field operations, student placement, site compliance, and partnership management to ensure adherence to CoAEMSP, CAAHEP, Wisconsin DHS, and NREMT standards. The position is responsible for developing an effective system to track and document the program-required clinical/field experiences to increase program enrollment capacity, student success, and accreditation compliance.

Position is a grant funded limited term employment through June 30, 2027.



Responsibilities

    Develop and maintain an effective system to track and document the program-required clinical/field experiences for EMS and paramedic program students.
  1. Coordinate all clinical and field education activities in collaboration with the Program Director.
  2. Develop, maintain, and oversee clinical and field schedules, rotation requirements, and site assignments.
  3. Serve as the primary liaison between the EMS program and clinical/field agencies.
  4. Ensure student compliance with the clinical/field site organization's requirements for site placement including immunizations, background checks, drug screens, CPR and advanced life support certifications, HIPAA, and OSHA training.
  5. Monitor student performance in clinical and field settings and provide remediation as necessary.
  6. Conduct site visits and evaluations of clinical and field locations.
  7. Maintain accurate clinical and field documentation and student records in compliance with FERPA.
  8. Participate in accreditation activities including data collection, reporting, and site visit preparation.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned in support of program operations.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Associate degree in EMS, Paramedicine or related field.
  2. Two years of work experience in EMS/EMT, Paramedic, or prehospital care.
  3. Current, unrestricted WI State EMT Licenses (or eligible to receive).
  4. Teaching or precepting experience in EMS/Paramedicine experience preferred.
  5. Experience with CoAEMSP/CAAHEP accreditation preferred.
