Description
We are seeking a collaborative and forward-looking analytic leader to serve as Section Supervisor for Future Concepts & Technology Policy Analysis section within the Strategic Analysis and Integration Group (JAI) of the National Security Analysis Department (NSAD). This role leads a multidisciplinary section focused on understanding how emerging technologies may change what missions are possible and how policy plays a role in their adoption. The section uses data-driven methods to conduct forecasting and future scenario development-often in collaboration with the Adversary and Intel Analysis Section-to assess future concepts and capabilities in the context of operational and institutional realities. They conduct net assessments to examine the impact of new technologies and capabilities on strategic considerationssuch as resilience,deterrence and escalation dynamics. The team will increasingly use AI-enabled tools to support synthesis needed to conduct analyses. The Section Supervisor will oversee and develop analysts who conduct future scenario development, technology and capability analysis, and policy-informed strategic assessments. The role integrates data-driven analysis with creative, forward thinking, and requires close collaboration across other NSAD teams. The supervisor will play a critical role in advancing data-informed approaches, ensuring the team can reason with incomplete data and appropriately bound uncertainty to execute the analyses. The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
