Job Overview

Lead where it matters most-on the floor.

As our 2nd Shift Plant Supervisor, you will own shift performance across a machining-driven manufacturing operation-driving
safety, quality, delivery, and team accountability. This is a high-visibility leadership role for a hands-on expert who knows machining, understands production realities, and leads from the front. We're seeking a proven manufacturing supervisor with deep machining experience who can assess issues quickly, make decisive calls under pressure, and turn challenges into measurable results. You will set the tone for the shift-aligning metrics, elevating performance, strengthening team capability, and partnering cross-functionally to advance processes and technology.

Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage all 2nd shift operations,
    acting as an extension of department management and assuming full leadership responsibilities in the manager's absence.



  • Drive performance by communicating daily metrics, ensuring targets are achieved, and developing corrective action plans for non-conforming issues.


  • Champion product quality by ensuring all output meets or exceeds standards, while troubleshooting machine, process, product, and personnel challenges.


  • Promote and enforce EH&S compliance by cultivating a strong safety culture, conducting accident investigations, and leading by example through proactive communication, employee engagement, and 5S workplace standards.


  • Partner cross-functionally in the development and implementation of new processes, tools, and equipment to enhance operational
    effectiveness.



  • Evaluate and optimize tooling,
    fixtures, and gages through periodic reviews, implementing cost-effective upgrades and technology-driven improvements as needed.










Requirements:


  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor
    's degree in a technical or business discipline preferred


  • 3+ or more years of supervisory experience in manufacturing

  • 5+ years of machining experience

    - for tasks such as planning the production schedule and making sure all necessary materials and equipment are available to the production team when needed

    - needs to be able to quickly assess production issues and establish the best course of action


  • Analytical Skills -
    must be able to spot problems within the manufacturing process quickly and take appropriate action to rectify. Also responsible for ensuring that the production team has access to all the necessary skills and equipment at the appropriate times


  • Time Management -
    has to ensure that their production team is working in the most time-efficient way and with the least downtime possible, to maintain production output while still maintaining staff safety and product quality


  • Decision-Making Abilities
    - must be able to make decisions quickly, under pressure, after careful assessment of all available information


  • Communication Skills
    - has to be able to clearly and concisely deliver instructions to the production team. Must also be able to deal with team-management issues quickly and effectively





Travel & Work Arrangements


  • Fully Site Based in Mocksville, NC

  • Manages 2 nd
    shift operations.
