Responsible for performing MRB (Material Review Board) evaluations and data analysis functions to support aerospace and industrial gas turbine manufacturing and engineering operations. The MRB function involves technical review and disposition of non-conforming products, requiring collaboration with cross-functional teams and application of advanced engineering judgement. The data analyst portion focuses on analyzing scrap and rework data, along with Statistical Process Control (SPC) system data, to compile trends, identify areas for improvement, and recommend actionable solutions. The position integrates technical expertise, problem-solving methodologies, and fosters a culture of innovation to improve Chromalloy's operational performance.


Critical Success Factors



  • Requires strong analytical skills and knowledge of operational procedures and tools obtained through technical education or specialty work experience.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with technical team members and other functions within a matrix organizational structure.
  • Experience in applying best practices and data-driven methodologies to resolve non-routine problems.
  • Ability to interpret complex data sets and communicate findings effectively.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement (CI) tools and techniques to enhance operational performance.
  • Typically, minimum of 3-5 years' experience in aerospace or industrial gas turbine manufacturing, repair, or engineering technician roles, or equivalent experience with progressively increasing responsibility.


Typical Education


Associate's degree preferred but High School Degree with Aerospace working background would be acceptable.


Essential Duties / Tasks



  • Document MRB decisions and maintain compliance with regulatory and customer specifications.
  • Collaborate with design engineering, quality, and product engineering to assess impact of deviations on product performance and safety.
  • Review and disposition non-conforming hardware in accordance with engineering procedures.
  • Lead cross-functional MRB meetings to review product non-conformances and drive consensus on product dispositions.
  • Provide technical guidance to manufacturing and quality teams on the interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Collect, validate, and analyze scrap and rework data from production systems.
  • Extract and interpret SPC system data to monitor process stability and capability.
  • Compile and visualize scrap and rework trends across departments; prepare detailed reports highlighting key findings.
  • Identify areas of improvement based on data insights and collaborate with engineering and production teams to propose corrective actions.
  • Support root cause analysis for recurring scrap and rework.
  • Maintain accurate records of data analysis and improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in updating SPC charts and dashboards for real-time monitoring.
  • Prepare technical summaries and periodically present findings to internal stakeholders.
  • Adhere to all customer and regulatory requirements, including IPM/QPM and ISO-9000 quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment by enforcing and supporting 5S principles.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Promote Corporate Code of Ethical Standards and ensure compliance with health and safety practices.


Skills / Knowledge / Proficiencies



  • Strong understanding of mechanical, materials, and aerospace engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing or design of hot section jet engine components.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SPC software, and data visualization platforms).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
  • Practical experience in manufacturing or quality control environments.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting findings and recommendations.


The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions. We evaluate each candidate individually to ensure fair and competitive pay decisions.
