Position Overview
| Primary Purpose of Position |
The Student Success Activity Specialist will manage all programmatic and budgetary operations related to the Student Success
HBCU Title
III activity. Programmatic management will include program oversight, reporting, and budgetary management of processing all business functions in accordance with University and Federal guidelines.
Budget Management
* Developing, evaluating, and reporting on the five-year goals of Student Success.
* Guidance will be provided by the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education and Student Success.
Administrative
* Preparing and submitting all budget expenditures for all
HBCU Student Success activity projects throughout the proper University channels, to include purchase, travel, and contractual transactions.
* Creating and submitting all activity personnel ePAFs at the fiscal year transition.
* Maintain audit-ready records of the
HBCU Title
III Student Success grant's spending and monitor the grant account to ensure that federal funds are used in strict compliance with the grant and federal regulations.
* Maintain audit-ready records of assets purchased under the
HBCU Student Success grant activity, and ensure resources align with the grant's goals and objectives.
Other Duties As Assigned
* Tracking all
HBCU Student Success Title
III grant activities to ensure alignment and compliance.
* Communicating with project directors to enhance knowledge and strategy in the use of Title
III funds.
* Serve as the first point of contact for offices and personnel supported by the
HBCU Student Success Title
III grant activity.
Work Hours:
Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm |

The Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education and Student Success in the Division of Academic Affairs at North Carolina A&T State University promotes the culture of academic excellence and student success integral to the University's mission of excellence in teaching, research, and student success. The position reports directly to the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education and Student Success. |
| Minimum Requirements |
- Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Education, Public Administration, Student Affairs, Educational Leadership, Social Sciences, or a closely related field
- Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in higher education student success, academic support services, program administration, or grant-funded initiatives
- Minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience with federal or state grant management, including budgeting, implementation, monitoring, and reporting
- Strong project management, written and oral communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills

- Working knowledge of Title III (or similar federal program) regulations, compliance requirements, and allowable activities
- Demonstrated experience using data to inform program design, assessment, and continuous improvement
- Experience leading institution-wide student success initiatives (retention, persistence, gateway course reform, advising, tutoring, SI, etc.)
