7/1/2026 Application Window Open date: February 24, 2026 Next review date: Thursday, Mar 26, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Tuesday, Mar 31, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Graduate Division at UC Riverside seeks a full-time Associate Dean to serve as a key partner to the Vice Provost and Dean of Graduate Education. This role is ideal for a faculty leader who is deeply passionate about graduate education, energized by collaboration, and motivated to elevate the graduate experience and outcomes across UCR. The Associate Dean will work closely with the Vice Provost/Dean, Academic Senate leadership, International Affairs, college deans and associate deans, department chairs, graduate advisors, graduate program staff, faculty, and campus partners to strengthen and sustain graduate programs across all schools and colleges. As a member of the Graduate Division Senior Leadership Team, the Associate Dean will help shape campus-wide strategy, advance shared priorities, and contribute to an agile, data-informed, and student-centered approach to graduate education. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. The Base Salary range for this position is $80,800 - $232,100. Core Responsibilities Strategic leadership and collaboration * Serve as a close thought partner to the Vice Provost/Dean co-developing priorities, testing ideas, and advancing initiatives that strengthen graduate education, student success, and program excellence. Academic policy, petitions, and complex case management * Oversee the management of graduate student petitions, appeals, grievances, and academic integrity referrals. Graduate student success, mentorship, and admissions consultation * Provide leadership and supervision of GradSuccess and Academic Preparation and Outreach programs, including retention and mentorship initiatives. Funding, fellowships, and grant development for graduate education * Support internal fellowship competitions and graduate student funding opportunities; serve as liaison to the Graduate Council's Fellowships and Assistantships Committee. Postdoctoral affairs and professional development * Serve as Graduate Division liaison for postdoctoral scholars, including programming and services in coordination with the Riverside Postdoctoral Association. Faculty rank of Associate or Full professor. Preferred qualifications
