The Commercial Flight Controls Division, headquartered in beautiful Ogden, Utah, is a global leader in aerospace flight controls.

Position Summary

We are seeking a results-driven Buyer to support high-volume production programs within a complex commercial aerospace manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for procuring technical and production materials while ensuring best value, on-time delivery, quality performance, and regulatory compliance.

The Buyer partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Supplier Development to support production schedules and mitigate supply chain risk across commercial aerospace programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and procure a wide variety of aerospace production materials, equipment, and services
  • Lead RFQs, bid analysis, and supplier selection for moderately complex and technical commodities
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery, terms, and long-term agreements to optimize cost and service performance
  • Issue and manage purchase orders ensuring accuracy in price, lead time, and contractual terms
  • Monitor supplier performance (OTD, quality, responsiveness) and proactively mitigate risk to production
  • Support supplier site evaluations, audits, and certification activities
  • Resolve delivery, quality, over-shipment, cancellation, and engineering change issues
  • Develop alternate sources of supply to improve resilience and cost competitiveness
  • Partner cross-functionally to support production schedules and customer commitments
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, lead time reduction, and process efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations, aerospace industry standards, and internal procurement policies

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field
  • 2+ years of progressive purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working in ERP/MRP systems
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Ability to analyze data, identify risks, and drive resolution
  • Professional communication skills across all organizational levels

Preferred:

  • Aerospace or regulated industry experience
  • APICS, CPM, or related supply chain certification
  • Experience in production-based (not development) manufacturing environments
  • Exposure to long-term agreements and performance-based supplier metrics
