The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $38.23 - $61.48 (Hourly Rate).

Department Description

The Department of Pediatrics is one of the largest and most complex departments in the School of Medicine. The Department is comprised of 18 divisions employing over 400 core faculty. The Department ranks 21st in the nation among pediatric departments for funding from the National Institutes of Health.

Required Qualifications


  • HS graduate and sufficient experience and demonstrated skills to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Proficiency with PC computer programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe and conference scheduling and hosting software, such as Zoom.
  • Proficiency with accurate medical data entry.
  • Familiarity with data extraction and analysis in Excel.
  • Familiarity with medical technical language and research study protocols.
  • Knowledge of research types, such as, clinical trials, protocols, and complex visit structures.
  • Ability to analyze complex and non-routine issues requiring innovative solutions.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies and regulations.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive personal and patient clinical information.
  • Ability to interact professionally with patients and their families, colleagues, and investigators at all levels at UCSF and academic sites throughout the U.S. and Canada.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Proficient in use of electronic medical records and databases - preferably EPIC.
  • Experience using database software, such as REDCap.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, particularly immunology, including lymphocyte subsets and functional studies.
  • Experience with human subject research approvals.
