Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an Applications Modernization Lead . The Applications Modernization Lead will lead and oversee the full lifecycle of application modernization initiatives, ensuring alignment between modernization strategy, project execution, and organizational objectives. Serves as the primary liaison across product management, architecture, engineering teams, and business leadership to drive successful transformation outcomes. Monitors program performance, budget adherence, modernization roadmaps, and delivery milestones while providing clear, datadriven status reporting to stakeholders.

This position will perform the following duties but not limited too:

    Evaluates modernization challenges and develops actionable solutions that improve system performance, scalability, quality, and user satisfaction.
  • Establishes frameworks and mechanisms for tracking modernization progress, identifying risks, and enabling timely intervention across crossfunctional teams, technical leads, and business partners.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for the Peraton DFAS Account on all applications modernization efforts within DFAS.
  • Providing strategic direction to modernization teams, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and cloud adoption strategies.
  • Developing, maintaining, and governing the modernization program plan, including migration waves, technical workstreams, and resource allocation.
  • Planning, organizing, and overseeing staff to meet business transformation goals, technology evolution needs, and modernization best practices.
  • Leading and coordinating crossfunctional teams spanning engineering, architecture, DevOps, security, and business operations.
  • Translating business needs into modernization requirements and ensuring seamless collaboration between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
  • Partnering with customers to define modernization goals, transformation roadmaps, KPIs, and reporting structures.
  • Engaging with senior leadership to communicate progress, risks, and strategic recommendations.
  • Managing all aspects of the design, development, migration, and implementation of assigned modernization projects, from legacy assessment through cloudnative deployment.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have active Public Trust clearance
  • Demonstrated experience within a DoW Agency.
  • Demonstrated experience generating innovative solutions.
  • Familiarity and experience with modernization methodologies, cloud platforms and Architecture.
  • Strong familiarity with DoD Finance and Accounting legacy systems is a strong plus.

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
