Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Rover in Ridgeland, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a highly visible presence, and help to identify and report security-related concerns. You will support access control and badge processes as needed, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and provide strong customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors at a government location by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting actions taken and communicating with site contacts as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and observe activity for policy compliance, reporting hazards, maintenance issues, and/or suspicious behavior through established channels.
  • Complete required reports and logs, including patrol documentation, incident reports, and shift turnover information, in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 1+ years of armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
