Temporary Program Assistant I - Silver Spring :

The Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County (HOC) was established in 1974 to better respond to the County's need for affordable housing. HOC is authorized to acquire, own, lease, and operate housing; to provide for the construction or renovation of housing; obtain financial assistance from any public or private source to assist its housing activities; and arrange for social services, resident services, and daycare.

Job Description:

The temporary Program Assistant I position will provide administrative assistance to the certification team. This position will be located downtown, Silver Spring MD.

Examples of Duties:

  • Provide administrative assistance to the certification team
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Conduct mass mailings and manage the tracking and receipt of incoming documents
  • Update spreadsheets and respond to customer inquires

Education:

  • Requires a High School Diploma
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Low income residents in Montgomery County with the above qualifications are encouraged to apply

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be detail oriented and have excellent customer service and internal personal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and meet delaines as well as prioritize assignments
  • Must have basic computer skills including proficiency with MS Office
