Design Producer, App Store

  • Location: Cupertino, CA (Hybrid)
  • Schedule: In-Office T/W/Th; Remote M/F
  • Pay Comments: W2, weekly pay, benefits, 401k w/ match

The Role

Design is the creative core of the App Store. As a Design Producer, you aren't just managing tasks-you are driving the end-to-end design phase for one of the world's most visible platforms. You will partner with designers to navigate the "how," allowing them to focus on the "what," while ensuring our products reach millions of users with the polish and precision our brand is known for.

This role requires a unique blend of organizational mastery and strategic flexibility. You'll manage the year-long release cycle while simultaneously juggling conceptual pitches and high-stakes executive decks.

The Day-to-Day

  • End-to-End Ownership: Drive projects from initial concept through the design phase, and stay partnered with Engineering through build, QA, launch, and beyond.
  • The "Pulse" of the Team: Maintain constant communication (Slack, meetings, and syncs) with Product, Engineering, and Business partners to keep alignment tight.
  • Strategic Flexibility: Our environment moves fast. You'll need to "march to the schedule" while being able to pivot thoughtfully when priorities shift by the hour.
  • Executive Storytelling: Beyond the roadmap, you'll manage the creation of executive decks and pitches for future-year concepts.
  • Bridge Building: Act as the primary advocate for design integrity during the engineering handoff, ensuring the final build matches the vision.

What We're Looking For

  • The Relentless Navigator: You have a "think on your toes" mentality. You can solve problems in real-time without losing sight of the long-term deadline.
  • Relationship First: You understand that great products are built on great partnerships. You are a pro at building rapport with cross-functional teams.
  • Operational Creativity: You don't need a deep technical background, but you do need to speak the language of developers and engineers to ensure a smooth delivery.
  • Systems Thinker: You can manage the "big picture" (yearly releases) while sweating the small stuff (weekly health reports and meeting notes).

Requirements

  • Experience in Design Production or Creative Project Management (Agency or In-House).
  • Proven ability to manage long-term project lifecycles (6-12 months).
  • Exceptional communication skills; ability to distill complex updates into succinct, clear action items.
  • A background working alongside Engineering/Developer teams is a major plus, though this is a non-technical role.

Why This Role?

You'll be at the center of the App Store ecosystem, working on projects that define the user experience for a global audience. This is a fast-paced, high-impact team where your ability to "connect the dots" across workstreams will directly influence the future of our services.
