GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for the efficient and effective servicing of high-level loan maintenance. Responsible for reviewing and decision making of Loan Modifications and Workout Loans, research and processing of Credit Disputes, review and processing of Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) requests, Daily and monthly review and processing of loan reports, and balancing General Ledgers related to payment processing and protection products. Expected to take an active role in process improvement projects related to Loan Servicing functions. Incumbent is responsible for meeting goals as set by management.

Salary range is $21.42 - $28.12/hour. Job Grade, NE-10. Final salary is dependent on candidate's experience and qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:



  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three (3) years of experience, servicing loans, underwriting, or analyzing data


Additional Preferred Education & Experience:



  • Understanding of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, CDIA Credit Reporting Guidelines and Servicemembers Relief Act
  • Knowledge of Symitar/Episys systems
  • General understanding of loan underwriting

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must possess a short learning curve related to assimilation of new skills and task

WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT:

This job requires that the employee sit at a desk or PC work station a majority of the time. The employee must be able to work a minimum five-day workweek (40 hours) with availability for nights and/or weekends as required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

The incumbent is required to comply with all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES AND TASKS:

1. Reviews and analyzes Member's financial ability to afford a loan modification or workout within the Credit Union's Policy and Procedures. Underwrites all loan modification and workout loan requests within the required time period. Evaluates measurements of ability and willingness to repay using calculations such as debt ratios, gross and net income, payment and amortization adjustments and loan history. Maintains an adequate charge-off rate based on goals set by management.

2. Investigates credit reporting disputes through electronic and written methods by analyzing internal records in comparison to the industry standards (Metro 2 Format) and in line with CDIA Credit Reporting Guidelines. Maintains knowledge and adheres to the furnisher requirements under the Fair Credit Reporting Act and credit union policies. Submits timely updates to the credit reporting agencies as needed. Processes all credit disputes within designated time limits as allowed by law. Acts as liaison with all credit reporting agencies and quickly reports any systematical issues to management to ensure compliance with the Metro 2 Format.

3. Responsible for receiving and reviewing any requests from Members for benefits available under the SCRA. Responds and processes loan maintenance within designated time limits and in line with credit union's policies and procedures. Monitors and maintains through monthly reporting.

4. Reviews and processes all daily and monthly reports within designated time limits and in line with credit union's policies and procedures.

5. Reconciles all General Ledgers associated with departmental accounts including, but not limited to, GLs for GAP, MRC, CPI, and payment clearing. Maintains proficient understanding of Excel in order to research and settle discrepancies in the balancing process.

6. Processes, prepares, and handles the Exchange of Collateral Request.

7. Prepares and sends out Text Campaigns.

8. Manages challenging file maintenance associated with deceased accounts, debt protection claims and loan adjustments. Handle the Post Funding purchase of Ancillary6 Products. Files the Debt Protection Claims.

9. Takes an active role in process improvement projects including providing suggestions for improvements, developing and testing solutions.

10. Maintains robust knowledge of lending products and functionality in order to act as a resource to Loan Servicing Specialists, members and other credit union staff.

11. Complies with all Loan Servicing related regulations, state laws, policies, procedures and user guides.

12. Keeps supervisor informed of all backlogs, unusual requests, problems or situations that may affect the efficient operation of the department.

13. Performs other duties as assigned.
