Job Description

As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will document observations, respond to concerns, and communicate clearly while providing professional customer service to staff and visitors. This post requires an armed guard card/license. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors at a government transportation location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unwanted activity; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate public agency personnel and/or emergency services when required.
  • Control access at gates, entrances, and/or checkpoints by verifying identification and credentials, directing traffic flow as needed, and documenting entries and exits per post orders.
  • Carry and maintain issued or authorized firearm and related equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, client requirements, and applicable laws; complete written reports and logs for incidents, patrol activity, and observations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
