SUMMARY: Reporting to the System Director of Nursing Operations, this role leads the standardization and advancement of inpatient nursing scheduling and oversees all staffing practices and procedures for nursing and nursing support staff. The Manager of System Nursing Workforce Optimization & Operations plays a key strategic role in aligning systemwide scheduling processes, ensuring appropriate skill mix and optimal staffing levels across all hospitals. This position drives operational excellence by shaping standardized policies, overseeing centralized scheduling operations, and promoting efficiency, consistency, and equity in workforce deployment. Lead system-wide scheduling strategy to ensure optimal staffing coverage and skill mix across all facilities. Develop, implement, and maintain standardized scheduling policies and procedures aligned with operational goals and regulatory requirements. Oversee centralized scheduling teams and processes, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and responsiveness to patient care needs. Collaborate with nursing leadership, HR, and operational teams to forecast staffing needs and align resources accordingly. Monitor scheduling metrics and workforce utilization to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement. Ensure compliance with labor laws, union agreements, and internal policies related to scheduling and staffing. Serve as a role model for professionalism, customer service, and respectful teamwork. Conduct staff evaluations and recommend corrective actions when necessary. Support ongoing staff development and training initiatives related to scheduling systems and practices. Participate in or lead project teams focused on workforce optimization and operational excellence. Perform other related duties as assigned. BASIC KNOWLEDGE: The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, nursing, or a related field, with a master's degree preferred. They should bring at least five years of progressive experience in healthcare operations, workforce management, or scheduling leadership. A strong understanding of scheduling systems, workforce analytics, and staffing models is essential. The role demands exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills to effectively engage with both clinical and administrative stakeholders. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex, system-wide initiatives. Proficiency in data analysis, project management, and change management is required, along with a high level of tact, sensitivity, and independent judgment. EXPERIENCE: 3 years of related experience required.
