THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is seeking an energetic and driven Certified Hunter Program Manager to lead and expand a program that directly connects hunters and landowners. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will oversee the Certified Hunter Program (CHP), managing daily operations, participant enrollment, and program growth. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining hunter curriculum, certification standards, and testing processes, including background checks and shooting qualifications. You will have the opportunity to serve as the primary liaison between certified hunters and landowners, conducting outreach, meetings, and ongoing relationship management. Work also involves monitoring program effectiveness through data analysis and stakeholder feedback, maintaining participant databases, and collaborating with internal teams to support policy development, education, and program promotion.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 45-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Four years of professional experience in development and implementation of conservation education programs; and a bachelor's degree with course work in education, wildlife management, communications, or a closely related field; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must possess a valid driver's license.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
