Job Description

This position willlead a variety oflarge projects or programsto apply Program Management principles and tools to ensure Quest Diagnostics isefficientand effective inthe delivery of its services, solutions, and processeswhile improving customerand employeesatisfaction.This position will also be responsible for coaching others to learn and apply Program Management principles and tools to their daily work.

In addition, this position may lead a team of project management specialists through a portfolio of medium projects while coaching others in the organization to learn and apply Program Management principles and tools to their daily work.

This is a Near site position; preference will be given to someone residing close to one of our Major labs.

Pay Range: $120,000 - $180,000/ year

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsibilities:
  • Leads projects and working teams to effectively initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and closeprojects
    • Leadsprojects
      • Leads projectsthrough issues, roadblocks, andproblems
      • Acts as a change agentto drive teamstowardsuccess
      • Guides team members to perform through issues andconstraints
    • Ownsprojects
      • Owns the timeline, budget, resource constraints, and deliverables/results
      • Shifts between the "big picture" and the small-but-crucialdetails
      • Is prepared to roll up their sleeves and work through detailedissues
    • Managesprojects
      • Ensures all appropriate tools are completed and used effectively (e.g., charter,Ganttchart, status updates)
    • Communicates
      • Actively communicates with project sponsors andstakeholders
      • Establishes regular points ofcommunication
      • Manages sponsor and stakeholdersexpectations
    • Delivers the expectedresults
      • Performs root cause analysis on project shortfalls andtakes corrective action asnecessary
  • Applies project management tools and techniques, as well as other Program Management principles and tools, toward a variety oflarge,and likely inter-related,projects
  • Establishes and leads programs comprised of multiple projects, including designing how information is rolled up and cascaded down, operating rhythms and mechanisms, and tracking against the integrated set of milestones anddeliverables
  • Coaches other employees onthe use of various tools, concepts and practices foundational to Program Managementinorderfor Quest Diagnostics employeesto build self-sufficiency, sustainability andscalability
  • Active effort toward obtaining a PMP certification administered by the Project Management Institute (PMI) required
  • Participates in Communities of Practice
  • Documentsbusiness processes
  • Completes required continuedlearning


Qualifications:

Required WorkExperience:

Demonstrated experience leading large or complex projects with multiple workstreams from initiation to completion(7-10years experience)

Preferred Work Experience:

Demonstrated experience in leading Quality and Regulatory affairs transformation projects including Digital Programs

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carryingobjects
  • Frequent walking and/or standing.
