ABOUT THE JOB:

In 2020, two successful companies - WillScot and Mobile Mini - joined forces to become the leading provider of modular space and portable storage solutions. Our accounting team is seeking a Senior Accountant for the ASC 842 Lease Accounting team. The ideal candidate for this role is highly motivated, detailed, adaptable, and ready to expand their professional career/acumen. The Senior Accountant should be able to deliver exceptional performance in a fun and fast-paced environment.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

The responsibilities for this role are wide-ranging and will continue to grow and transform with the Company and individual. Responsibilities may include:



  • Participation in the monthly close process, including preparing and booking assigned journal entries timely and in accordance with internal and external reporting
  • Validate income statement expenses for operating equipment, financing equipment and real estate leases
  • Participate in the monthly reconciliations and roll forwards of balance sheet accounts in Blackline, ensuring accounts are reconciled timely, reconciling items are addressed, and reconciliations are updated as efficiencies and improvements are identified
  • Research technical accounting guidance for complex leases to determine the proper accounting treatment
  • Be responsible for finance lease process/work with treasury department on financing for finance leases and assist with lease buyouts of financing equipment
  • Prepare the financial statement disclosures for the 10-Q and 10-K
  • Work with Finance team to assist with quarterly and yearly budgets
  • Contribute to additional projects and assignments as needed
  • Perform key SOX Controls over ASC 842 to ensure compliance with internal processes
  • Assist in quarterly reviews and the annual audit process

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and CPA or CPA candidate
  • 2-5+ years of public accounting or public company/large company experience
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and entire Office Suite
  • Sound understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and the ability to apply GAAP to new and existing transactions
  • Ability to problem-solve and analyze new information
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Thrives when working independently and is resourceful
  • Ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks and projects concurrently
  • Positive, motivated contributor to the Company's all-hands-on-deck atmosphere
  • Experience using SAP or large ERP systems
  • Full time in-office requirement. In-office requirements are subject to change
