Directs and coordinates the development and administration of Home Health services with maximum utilization of staff. Utilizes resources, both labor and non-labor staff to maximize efficiency and quality. Able to project and appropriately staff the department to effectively function to demand. Effectively allocates and schedules resources Determines priorities and organizes work and time to meet them. Reviews patient records and nursing notes to ensure compliance with orders and operational policies and procedures. Orients staff to home care cases, new procedures and equipment Supervises RNs and LPNs who are performing skilled nursing visits. Communicates with patients, referral sources, families/significant others in a competent, respectful, patient manner to encourage positive attitudes about Home Health. Participates in and contributes to Home Health Quality Assurance program and staff meetings Contributes to improving quality services and productivity (takes the initiative to continually evaluate one's work, report problems, suggest solutions and try new ideas) Works collaboratively with other departments to identify and pursue opportunities for improvement within Home Health. Cover for team managers as well as clinical supervision of team and as needed basis as well as on call rotation and holiday rotation. Confers with Director/Vice President on complicated cases or questionable appropriateness of service.
