YOUR OPPORTUNITY


We have an exciting Director of Retail Field Sales opportunity onsite in our Merriam, KS office. In this highly impactful role, you will be a key leader of the sales team. This position is responsible for managing a team of Retail Regional Field Sales Managers and Representatives. He or she will direct the efforts to develop, grow, and maintain a value-added and branded fresh pork customer base for the Retail Sales Channel. This individual will execute the action plans and sales strategy with their team to meet the goals and objectives of the Retail Channel, maintain and/or increasing product margins and volumes, gain new customers and grow distribution among existing customers, monitor and report on business development, manage budgets (volumes, accruals and marketing/trade funds) and overall help profitably grow the business in the retail sales channel.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Develop and foster new customer relationships
  • Create and Execute Career Development Plans for Team Members
  • Evaluate, Coach, and Train Team Members
  • Stay current with protein markets to maximize sales returns
  • Review and approve Value-added programs via P&L analysis (ROI) projection.
  • Work with Inside and Outside Regionals to identify potential growth areas for customers and products and develop strategic plans to successfully grow and/or capture business.
  • Review Field Regional's weekly reports and be involved in resolving issues and supportive in helping with next steps to grow the business.
  • Stay abreast of competitive pricing and retails price points to position Seaboard products appropriately in the marketplace.
  • Execute against the Retail strategic plan, volume and margin goals.

QUALIFICATIONS


Required:



  • Minimum 5-10 years' experience selling and/or interacting with value-added sales representatives in the meat/protein space.
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills
  • Ability to analyze, develop and execute strategies to maximize topline revenues and sales margins while developing and expanding new markets to meet company objectives.


  • Must be highly initiative-taking, assertive and speak effectively to customers while maintaining a prominent level of ethics and integrity.
  • Strong leadership and people-managing skills
  • Overnight travel required, estimate 40% with the remaining work week in Seaboard Foods' Merriam, KS office.
  • Must have a valid driver's license



Preferred:




  • Proven record with minimum 8 years' experience selling & managing in the branded fresh meat and further processed value-added proteins industry.
  • Retail grocery focused value-added protein/meat sales and branded program selling experience
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or another Relevant Graduate Degree(s)
  • High level of fresh pork and further processed pork knowledge





SCHEDULE


Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM, potential for travel & different hours based off needs of business
