Who is BlueRock? BlueRock Therapeutics LP is a clinical stage cell therapy harnessing the power of cell therapy to create a pipeline of new medicines for people suffering from neurological and ophthalmic diseases. Two of our novel investigational cell therapies, bemdaneprocel (BRT-DA01) for the treatment of Parkinson's disease and OpCT-001 for the treatment of primary photoreceptor diseases are clinical stage programs. What Are We Doing? Our foundational science harnesses the ability to create and then direct the differentiation of universal pluripotent stem cells into authentic, functional cells that can be used as allogeneic cellular therapies to treat a broad array of diseases. We can also further engineer these cells, enabling them to produce enzymes, antibodies, and other proteins for additional therapeutic benefit. The Genome Engineering CoOp will provide research and technical support for the expansion and execution of BlueRock's Research and Development pipeline. This position is part of the PSC Biology team and will collaborate closely with Genome Engineering and Discovery Analytics teams. The successful candidate will assist in the generation, characterization, and maintenance of induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) lines to support ongoing studies in cell engineering, genomics and epigenetics. Responsibilities include performing subcloning and characterization of iPSC variants, preparing materials for molecular and functional assays, and contributing to investigations into the mechanisms underlying PSC Biology. This role offers the opportunity to work with cuttingedge technologies in genome engineering and pluripotent stem cell biology while contributing to BlueRock's mission to advance transformative cell therapies. Responsibilities Maintain iPSCs and their derivatives using aseptic mammalian cell culture techniques. Perform DNA/RNA extraction, PCR/qPCR, gel electrophoresis, and related molecular assays. Troubleshoot experiments and optimize protocols under guidance. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), batch records, and other process documentation. Analyze and document experimental data in electronic lab notebooks in a timely, accurate manner per quality standards. Generate, collect, interpret, and communicate experimental results. Present findings at internal meetings and contribute to team discussions. Qualifications & Requirements Currently enrolled in, or have recently completed, a bachelor's or master's degree program at an accredited college or university in cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, bioengineering, or a related discipline Possess the (Ability to work a 6-12 assignment, full-time). Must be 18 years of age by the start of the internship/co-op. This position is intended to be on-site, and candidates will be informed should anything change. Excellent organizational skills, sufficient to multi-task in fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Preferred Qualifications Hands-on experience working with iPSCs. Familiarity with sequencing technologies (e.g., NGS, Sanger sequencing) or related molecular assays. Proficiency with electronic lab notebooks (ELNs) or data analysis software (e.g., GraphPad Prism, FlowJo).
