Continuation past the termlengthdiscussed willbebasedonuniversityneed,performance,and/oravailabilityoffunding.POSITION SPECIFICS Penn State Altoona invites applications for a full-time, Non-Tenure-Line Instructor or Assistant Teaching Professor in education/field practicum supervisor to work with the Elementary and Early Childhood Education Program. This position provides field-based supervision of preK-6th grade pre-student and student teachers in local and regional elementary schools.This position is a 12-month, 36-week, non-tenure track appointment for fall and spring semesters beginning immediately or as negotiated. Teaching Responsibilities: The field supervision component includes observing and assessing pre-student and student teachers in classroom settings, as well as teaching after school/evening seminars. Supervisors also work with classroom mentor teachers to support preservice teacher development and collaborate with university faculty to coordinate course experiences. Other Responsibilities: Engage in scholarly activities to stay current in the discipline. Participation in program accreditation, curriculum assessment and course development; undergraduate academic advising, advising student clubs, performing academic reviews, and providing career guidance; participation in student recruitment and retention activities; participation in campus, university, and professional service activities; and outreach to the community. Successful candidates will work collaboratively with other faculty to support our mission of ensuring the highest quality undergraduate education. Candidates must be student-centered and open to innovative program delivery using technology. Candidates will also be expected to participate in student recruitment and retention, and program assessment. Additional teaching opportunities will be based on program need and candidate qualifications. Qualifications: At the time of hire, candidates must have a master's degree in education or a related field, and a minimum of 5 years of elementary classroom teaching experience.
