Position Summary

The Mortgage Closing Coordinator II is responsible for managing the end-to-end closing process of mortgage loans. This role ensures all necessary documentation is complete and compliant with regulatory requirements. The coordinator will work closely with borrowers, loan officers, title companies and other stakeholders to facilitate a smooth and timely closing process. Responsible for communicating, preparing, and coordinating all aspects of mortgage loan closings.

Takes a junior lead role within the team and conduct peer training both in a group and one on one sessions to ensure mortgage loans are closed to TTCU policies and procedures. Provide support, direction and coaching for others on the team to ensure the highest level of service from the perspective of courtesy, promptness, and accuracy. Handle issues requiring an advanced level of knowledge of closing residential loans. Make recommendations to improve efficiency. Provide ongoing feedback to the Mortgage Closing Supervisor regarding the performance of the closing team.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

* Prepare and review all closing instructions, closing disclosures and closing documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with TTCU polices and regulations. Verify all closing screens and documents are accurate in Encompass. All within the required time frame.

* Ensure all closing packages comply with Underwriting compliance. Conduct thorough reviews of closing documents to identify and correct any discrepancies or errors. Verify that all loan closing and funding conditions have been met prior to closing. Prepares loan funding and wire sheets.

* Schedule and coordinate closing dates with borrowers, title companies and other involved parties. Serve as primary point of contact for borrowers throughout the closing process, providing timely updates and addressing any questions or concerns. Document all communication and actions taken during the closing process in Encompass.

* Identify and resolve issues or obstacles that may arise during the closing/post-closing process. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient closing experience for borrowers.

* Provide ongoing feedback to Mortgage Closing Supervisor regarding the performance of the closing team. Provide support, direction and coaching for others in the department to ensure the highest level of service from the perspective of courtesy, promptness, and accuracy. Make recommendations to help to improve efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

Educational Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.

Certificates/Licenses

Reliable transportation is required.

Experience

Closing FHA, VA, FHLMC, FNMA, 184, Construction, and USDA loans, 5-6 years

Additional Requirements

Job Knowledge

* Intermediate computer skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams).

* Ability to navigate the Internet using Microsoft Internet Explorer, Keystone, Encompass, Blend, WireXchange

* Ability to learn proprietary computer software such as OnBase

* Good organization skills and attention to detail and accuracy

* Working knowledge of government regulations and the operations of Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac

* Working knowledge of underwriting requirements

Interpersonal Skills

* Intermediate written and verbal communication skills required to facilitate sharing of information with members, staff, and external contacts.

* Routinely perform work indoors in climate controlled private office with minimal noise

Physical Demands

* Must be able to remain in a stationary position (e.g., sitting at a desk) for extended periods.

* Occasional movement around the office to attend meetings or collaborate with team members.

* Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment as needed.

Travel

* Occasional travel for meetings, conferences, and industry related events
