Security Officer - Entrance Screener

As a Security Officer - Entrance Screener in West Chester, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Screener at an education location, you will welcome students, staff, and visitors, complete entry screening and badge verification, guide guests to the right destinations, and communicate concerns to onsite teams. You will maintain a visible presence, support routine rounds nearby, and help document security-related activity with professionalism. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and vendors by following site-specific procedures and security-related policies at screening and entry points.
• Screen individuals for authorized access by checking identification, confirming appointments and/or authorization, and directing traffic to appropriate locations.
• Operate walk-through metal detectors, hand wands, and/or bag inspection procedures as required, and document screening activity per site guidelines.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications and/or emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of nearby entry areas, corridors, and the perimeter as assigned, with working environments and conditions varying by location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
