Job Summary

The Production Supervisor (Team Leader) is accountable for achieving the People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cash and Cost (PSQDCC) targets through the disciplined and rigorous deployment of the Lean Operating Model. The Team Leader is accountable for attaining Operational Excellence across their designated area of responsibility, in line with the Performance Centre objectives. The Team Leader is accountable for creating a 'Great Place To Work' through developing and empowering first class Team Members and driving a culture of continuous improvement, safe working and open dialogue.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create and sustain a culture aligned to the GKN Aerospace "Great Place to Work" value drivers and Culture Principles by rolemodelling positive behaviours, motivating and encouraging others, and recognising the contributions of individuals and teams.
  • Hold Team Members and Team Leaders accountable for embodying the GKNA Culture Principles.
  • Be open and honest when appraising and managing individual performance, while providing support and coaching to help close performance gaps.
  • Provide opportunities for Team Members to leverage their strengths, do their best work, and pursue ongoing learning and personal development.
  • Exemplify a safetyfirst mindset and ensure that GKN Aerospace Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and standards are consistently applied, creating a worldclass, healthy, and safe work environment.
  • Lead and develop teams to understand the context, mechanics, and delivery of PSQDCC targets in order to meet customer and stakeholder commitments.
  • Drive the disciplined and rigorous deployment of the Lean Operating Model (LOM) across assigned areas.
  • Actively participate in problem solving and the management system using a "Go to Gemba" approach, with the goal of resolving 95% of issues within the zone.
  • Contribute to the Value Stream futurestate design and ensure effective execution across assigned areas.
  • Collaborate with other Team Leaders to achieve the best performance outcomes for the entire Area.
  • Hold functional support staff accountable for adhering to Global Standards and enabling the zone team to meet its targets.
  • Ensure disciplined execution of Daily Management and Standardised Work through consistent adherence to Leader Standard Work.
  • Drive and facilitate the engagement of all team members by defining, implementing, and following through on engagement actions.


  • Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements and ensure staff understand the related policies and their individual responsibilities, including:


    • Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action policies
    • Compliance and Ethics Policy on Contracting with the United States Government for all direct and indirect governmentrelated activities
    • Export Control regulations




  • Manage the Zone budget as agreed with the Group Leader.
  • Take ownership when making difficult decisions that impact the Zone.

Job Qualifications

* High School Diploma required.
* 3 - 5 years of expereince in manufacturing


* 3 years of recent direct people managment experience.
* Excellent performance as a Team member, demonstrating rigorous adherence to standardized work, and a track record of Kaizen implementation
* Self-motivated by meeting and exceeding PSQDCC performance targets
* The demonstrated ability to work with various stakeholders
* Demonstrated potential to lead, engage, train and develop direct reports
* An effective communicator and an influential team member
* Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations and/or program requirements.



Preferred Qualifications:


* Experience working with a Lean Operating Model / Production System


* Aerospace manufacturing industry experience
